Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Last updated: August 13, 2026

The short version

We don't sell your personal information. You can browse the entire directory without an account, and you can turn off analytics tracking at the bottom of any page.

Information we collect

  • Account details — your name and email address if you create an account, plus login credentials handled through our authentication provider.
  • Shop owner information — the business details, contact information, photos, and links you submit when you claim a shop or apply for a listing.
  • Messages you send us — anything you include when you email support or submit a form, such as your phone number or details about your vehicle.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, and how you arrived at the site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure traffic.

Shop listings themselves are built from publicly available business information, not from data about you.

How we use your information

  • To run the directory and show you shops near the city or zip code you search.
  • To create and secure your account, and to process shop claims and listing applications.
  • To take payment for listings and memberships.
  • To respond when you contact us.
  • To understand which pages people use so we can improve the site.
  • To detect abuse, fraud, and technical problems.

When we share information

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • Service providers — companies that operate parts of the service for us, listed below, and only to the extent they need it.
  • Shops you choose to contact — if you submit a request intended for a specific shop, the details you provide go to that shop.
  • Legal reasons — when we're required to comply with the law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — if TintBrokers is acquired or merged, your information may transfer as part of that deal.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers to sell you unrelated products.

Service providers we use

  • Cloudflare — hosting, storage, and content delivery.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never store them.
  • Google Analytics — website traffic and usage measurement.
  • PostHog — product analytics that show how features are used.
  • Meta Pixel — advertising and conversion measurement.
  • Ahrefs — search performance monitoring.
  • Sentry — error monitoring so we can find and fix bugs.

Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy.

Cookies and your choices

Essential cookies keep the site working — signing you in and remembering your preferences. Analytics and advertising scripts are separate, and you can switch them off with the Site Analytics toggle in the footer of any page. Your browser also lets you block or delete cookies, though some parts of the site may stop working correctly if you do.

Data retention and security

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access is limited to people who need it. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you're a California resident, the CCPA also gives you the right to know what we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Email us and we'll handle the request — we may need to verify your identity first.

Children

TintBrokers isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll make that clear on the site.
